Gold Has Never Paid You Anything
That's the whole problem with holding it. Gold has no dividend, no coupon, no interest. It does one job, and it does it by sitting there. Every year you hold it waiting for your level, it pays you nothing for the wait.
A treasury token pays because the bond underneath it pays. Gold has nothing underneath it to pass through. So any yield on gold has to come from somewhere else, and where it comes from is the whole story.
Where The Yield Comes From
Most products that pay you on gold do it by putting your gold to work somewhere else. They borrow against it, or lend it out. That gets you a return, and it also gets you a loan, a rate that moves without asking you, and a price at which the position gets taken from you.
We don't do that. Your gold stays in the vault and isn't lent to anyone. The yield comes from gold's own price movement, and you get paid for naming a price you'd be happy to trade at. No loan. No liquidation price.
This isn't the first yield on gold on-chain, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What's different is the engine. One approach puts your position at risk to earn a return somewhere else. The other pays you for a decision you were already making about price. We're the second one.
You Already Have A Number In Mind
Anyone who holds gold has a level. A price they'd add more at. A price they'd be happy to take some off at. That number has always just sat in your head doing nothing.
Now it earns.
Pick buy low and you set the price you'd be glad to buy gold at. Pick sell high and you set the price you'd be glad to sell it at. Either way you earn yield across the tenor, and the yield is locked the second you deposit.
This is the cleanest fit our model has ever had. Gold holders already think in price targets. We're not teaching a new behavior, we're paying for one people already have.

If the price finishes past your level at expiry, the vault settles into the other asset at the price you picked. If it doesn't, you keep what you put in. Either way, you keep the yield.
Three things to know before you do it. Settlement is checked once, at expiry, not the moment price gets near your level. There's no early exit, which is exactly what makes a fixed yield possible. And the closer your price sits to market, the higher the yield and the higher the chance it converts, so pick a price you'd actually be happy to trade at.
That's the whole product.
Both Ends Of The Spectrum, Now Live
Last month we launched vaults on tokenized stocks, starting with Nvidia. Today we're adding gold.
Those two assets sit at opposite ends of the risk spectrum, and most people who hold one hold it because of the other. One is the growth position. One is the ballast. Until now neither paid you while you waited.
Gold also moves for reasons that have nothing to do with crypto. Rates, central banks, geopolitics. Same for stocks, which move on earnings and guidance. That matters for a protocol whose vaults were all crypto-linked until a few weeks ago.
